School Uniform

Smart on the outside, smart on the inside!

It is our school policy that all children wear school uniform when attending school or when participating in school-organised events outside normal school hours. We ask children to wear their shirts tucked into their skirts or trousers and take pride in their appearance; we promote the belief that school is an important part of life and should be viewed accordingly. 

The agreed uniform for Early Years Children is: 

Navy blue cardigan or jumper with school logo

A plain white polo shirt

Plain black trousers or black or navy jogging bottoms or leggings

Plain black flat shoes or trainers

A school tie is not needed in early years

The agreed uniform for children year 1 to year 6 is:

Navy blue jumper or cardigan with school logo 

White short/long-sleeved shirt                                                                 

Black long trousers, shorts or a black skirt

School tie 

Flat, black shoes (not trainers)

Jewellery is not permitted; this includes rings, chains, and hoop earrings. Nail varnish is not permitted. 

We advise long hair is to be tied back. Hair accessories, including ribbons/bows or scrunchies, are not permitted. 

Wristwatches may be worn but only for the purpose of telling the time. Smartwatches linked to mobile phones are not permitted.

Navy blue and white small check gingham dress

FOR P.E., YOUR CHILD WILL NEED:

Black shorts and a white T-shirt

Black pumps or trainers

Children are expected to take part in all lessons. If your child is unable to do P.E., Games or Swimming for medical reasons, please get in touch with the school by telephone or email admin@st-ambrose.manchester.sch.uk
