Forest School at St. Ambrose

At St. Ambrose R.C. Primary School our forest school uses a designated section of the school grounds as a means to build independence and self-esteem in children.

Forest School is an opportunity for the children at St. Ambrose to have new, creative experiences in the outdoor environment in a safe way whilst developing their personal skills such as teamwork and problem solving. Children will have opportunities to learn about the natural environment, how to handle risks and most importantly to use their own initiative to solve problems and co-operate with others. These skills prepare the children for the world both inside and outside of school.

Forest School learning experiences create endless opportunities and have many cross-curricular links to Science, Mathematics, English, Geography and Art.
