Below is a letter written by Evita in Year 1, asking for donations to help Early Essentials. Early Essentials is an organisation which helps provide parents with new borns with the essentials they may need.
They have requested donations if possible of the items listed below:
- Nappies - sizes newborn,1 & 2 only
- Baby wipes
- Baby toiletries
- Nappy cream.
- Breast pads
- Maternity pads
- Women's toiletries - shampoo/conditioner shower gel, toothpaste/brushes, deodorant, smellies, gift sets.
- Chocolate treats, biscuits etc
Early Essentials do not need baby clothes and toys at the moment so please do not bring these in.
In return for the donation the children can come to school in their Christmas jumpers or festive red and green clothes on Friday 11th December.

Are you Eligible for Free School Meals?
We want to make sure every child that is eligible for Free School Meals has made a claim - especially during these unprecedented Covid-19 times. It is important we have an accurate record in case of any further disruption like we experienced in March to ensure every child eligible receives a meal dueing school closures.
If a claim is made now this will ensure your child will receive a meal in such an event.
To claim takes a few minutes and you normally receive an instant decision. You can find the link to make a claim on the school website on the School Meal page;
To complete an application, you will need to provide:
- Your own name and date of birth
- Contact details
- National Insurance Number or National Asylum Seekers Number
- Child's name and date of birth
- School your child is attending/will attend.

Free School Meals – October Half Term, by Mrs Maguire

Manchester City Council has agreed today to provide funding for all children from Nursery class to Year 11 who are eligible for a benefits related free school meal over the October half term break next week.
This will be for families that receive Free School Meals due to low income. This does not include children who get a free school meal through the universal scheme.
FSM eligibility
Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:
- Income Support
- Income-based Job Seeker’s Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Support under Part !V of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
- Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
- Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
