Welcome to a new and exciting school year for the Year 6 students. It will be their last at St.Ambrose and definitely the best! We've got lots of enjoyable learning to do this year and can't wait to get started.

There is a number of important Year 6 dates to share with you throughout the school year. I will post as many dates in advance as I can on this section of our website.

In Year 6 you are expected to know all the spellings for Key Stage 2 (Y3-6). The document below on the link below gives you all the key spellings rules that your child will need to learn. This is taken from the government website. Get the children learning these at home.

Key Spellings for SATs

Like with all home learning, spellings will be given out on a Thursday and tested on a Tuesday. Please ensure you child looks at these at home and understands what they mean.


These are the spellings to be tested on Tuesday 16th January.

Drop the y and add the -ies suffix.

Below is our current 'Share In Our Learning' letter for parents to know exactly what we are doing in each half term. A paper copy of this is sent home every half term with your child. We have a brand new IPC curriculum this year which will require parental support at home and in school.
