Attendance

It is our aim at St Ambrose that all children will have an attendance of 98% and above. It is a parents legal responsibility to ensure that their child is in school on time everyday.

If your child's attendance slips to 95% or below then you will begin to receive communication from Mrs Katy Fagan and Mrs Maggie Pritchard.

You will need a medical card stamped by your GP if your child is off school for 3 days or more, if you cannot provide a St Ambrose stamped medical card or medical note from your GP then your child's absence will be marked as unauthorised and we, as a school, will contact the local authority to begin legal proceedings.

If your child's attendance slips below 90%, without medical evidence, then we will unfortunately have to contact the local authority to begin legal proceedings. 10% of missed schooling is 19 days in one school year.

If there are reasons for your child's absence, that you need help with then please do contact Mrs Katy Fagan at the school. We are here to help to ensure your child gets their educational entitlement. This support could be around a Parents or Carers own medical needs or that of a close family member, or issues around housing etc. The blue link below to Manchester's Early Help team could provide some valuable advice and support.
