Match Report

St Ambrose RC v Manley Park

St Ambrose played their second league game of the season recently against Manley Park Primary School, both teams started of very well with St Ambrose controlling most of the possession and Manley Park defending magnificently. This was the trend through most of the first half but eventually St Ambrose were able to break down Manley Park’s defence and get the first goal coming from a long strike finding the bottom corner of the net, this didn’t last too long as Manley Park grabbed a goal back with a quick counterattack catching St Ambrose sleeping.

Half Time 1-1

St Ambrose came out raring to go for the second half and once again were dominating possession but were unable to find a goal after ample of opportunities. St Ambrose kept on playing their way which produced the 3rd  goal of the game  which was thoroughly deserved and made it 2-1 to St Ambrose RC.

Manley Park came back into the game at this point creating chance after chance, hitting the crossbar and being denied by St Ambrose goalkeeper on at least 3 occasions. The increased possession from manley Park enabled St Ambrose to play on the counter attack which then led to St Ambrose grabbing the 4th and final goal of the game which ended 3-1 to St Ambrose. St Ambrose now sit at the top of the table with 4 games left to play.
